Drake disses Kendrick Lamar on leaked song ‘1 AM in Albany’

Drake has taken shots at Kendrick Lamar on a leaked song called ‘1 AM in Albany’.

Drizzy is set to release his new album, Iceman, on May 15th, but unreleased music has surfaced in the days leading up to its arrival.

‘1 AM in Albany’ continues the theme of Drake’s timestamp songs, which have included ‘9 AM in Dallas’, ‘5 AM in Toronto’, ‘6 PM in New York’, ‘4 PM in Calabasas’, ‘7 AM on Bridle Path’, and ‘8 AM in Charlotte’.

In his latest song, Drizzy raps, “Talkin’ bout hiding the Bible, maybe y’all should read a page/Iced out crosses on they necks thinking Jesus saves, well even if he does, n*gga, either way/The blasphemy you talk let me know that your amazing grace gon’ be delayed.”

He continues, “You n*ggas should be ashamed, the fact you had to bring those talks to get some decent plays, goodness grace/ God wanna wipe that lil smug look right off ya fucking face/ All you really did was cap like uppercase/ Dodged the truth, but still managed to finally get a hit that let you run a base/ N*ggas saw you out at first, you need ’em/ So you out at home now, just like a double play.”

In another line, he spits, “What is it, the braids? Even if I cut them, I could never fade/ I mean, it’s Drizzy Drake.”

The lyrics reference Kendrick’s “What is it, the braids?” line, which appeared on his ‘Euphoria’ diss track.

Drake and Kendrick’s feud escalated in 2024 following K. Dot’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’.

From there, they went back and forth with diss tracks such as ‘Push Ups’, ‘Meet the Grahams’, ‘Family Matters’, and most famously, ‘Not Like Us‘.
