Drake suddenly cancels remainder of tour: “We sincerely apologise”

Drake toured Australia this month while Kendrick Lamar headlined the Super Bowl halftime show on the other side of the pond. However, the Anita Max Win Tour was suddenly cancelled on February 26th.

Drizzy was scheduled to perform in Brisbane on March 4th at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, followed by a Sydney show at the Qudos Bank Arena on March 7th. He was then set to head to New Zealand for a show in Auckland on March 15th at the Spark Arena before closing things out with another show there on March 16th.

The tour’s cancellation was announced on Wednesday afternoon Australian time, citing a “scheduling conflict.” However, Drake plans to return to compensate for the disappointment, with all tickets remaining valid for rescheduled dates that have yet to be announced.

“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” his team said in a statement. “All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale.”

It continued, “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon. We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible.”

Drake’s tour began on February 4th with two nights in Perth, before heading to Melbourne and Sydney for four concerts in each location. Before the postponement, he had just finished two shows in Brisbane.

The Toronto rapper released his new album, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, on February 14th while on the road. The collaborative project with PARTYNEXTDOOR debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 246,000 units in its first week. It served as Drake’s first album since For All the Dogs dropped in 2023.

“It’s called Some Sexy Songs 4 U, but it’s some turned up songs for you on there too,” he told fans in Australia. “And there’s some personal feelings on there for you. So hopefully, whoever you’re with on Valentine’s Day, hopefully y’all can share that experience together.”
