Drake cancels Australia and New Zealand tour after postponing dates
Drake has cancelled his Australia and New Zealand tour, months after postponing the dates. The Anita Max Win Tour started in February, and the Toronto rapper performed 12 shows.
The tour, announced in November 2024, was his first time down under since 2017. Drizzy performed concerts in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane before postponing additional shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland due to a “scheduling conflict.”
Those dates were supposed to be rescheduled, but on July 29th, ticket holders were informed that the remainder of the tour had been cancelled.
“Despite extensive efforts to find a solution, rescheduling within the necessary timeframe was not possible,” read a statement from Live Nation Australia. “Drake remains committed to returning and performing these shows when his schedule permits.”
Drake’s representatives stated they were “actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows.”
In the initial postponement in February, Drake’s team said, “We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows. All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale.”
The statement continued, “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon. We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible.”
The news comes shortly after Drake’s Manchester show was cancelled due to “unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics,” with the rapper moving the show to August 5th.
