Drake breaks silence on Astroworld tragedy: “My heart is broken”

Drake has broken his silence following the Astroworld tragedy, where eight people lost their lives, and hundreds more suffered injuries.

Drizzy performed at the festival and is also named a co-defendant alongside Travis Scott in a lawsuit brought forward by Texas attorney Thomas J. Henry. Tragedy struck when a crowd surge during Scott’s set caused mass injuries, and many attendees also suffered cardiac arrests.

Taking to Instagram, Drizzy wrote, “I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy. I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself.

“My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can, May God be with you all.”

Meanwhile, Scott has since posted a video on Instagram offering his condolences to the victims’ families. “We’re actually working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them during this tough time.

“My fans really mean the world to me. I always just really want to leave them with a positive experience. Anytime I can make out what’s going on, I stop the show and help them get the help they need.”
