Drake recalls spending nine hours in Swedish jail after “aggressive” arrest

Drake has revealed he was once arrested in Sweden and spent nine hours in jail. The Toronto rapper opened up about the incident during a recent podcast appearance.

Bobbi Althoff’s career took off in 2023 following Drizzy’s appearance on her platform, which led to other famous guests like Lil Yachty, Offset, and YG.

Drake appeared on her Not This Again podcast this week for another interview that takes place in a bed. During their conversation, he detailed his experience with Swedish authorities.

“I got arrested in Sweden,” he said. “I actually have a show coming up there. I feel like they’re gonna try and run it back.” The rapper revealed he “spent a pretty long time in jail, nine hours,” and said the experience wasn’t “fun” at all.

Drake alleged the arrest was unwarranted and suggested an officer disapproved of his girlfriend attending one of his parties.

“I got arrested for nothing,” he claimed. “Well, we did a private party, and one of the guys, the officer, his girl came to the private party. But they arrested me way too aggressive and they arrested me for nothing.”

Drizzy said the incident took place “like three years” ago. His comments align with 2022 reports about being detained for weed. It was speculated that Drake was arrested at a Stockholm nightclub by local police, but his team stated the news was false and that he was in his hotel.

Drake later confirmed the incident by sharing documents from the Swedish National Police Board on his Instagram account.

The document was titled “Information for Those Suspected of a Crime and Subsequently Detained.” It listed his custody rights, including “know what it is you are suspected of and why you are being denied” and “receive the aid of a defence attorney who under certain conditions can only be paid by the state.”

There was also “receive food and rest as needed” and “receive the assistance of an interpreter during interrogations as needed.”
