Drake and Lil Yachty tease each other online in a playful spat

Drake has been subject to embarrassment, humiliation, bad reviews, and much more over recent years. Even before his loss to Kendrick Lamar in last year’s hip-hop battle royale, he was perceived to be on the decline from a reputation standpoint. However, there is one rapper who has been hugely supportive of the Toronto emcee during the turmoil: Lil Yachty.

On the surface, the two wouldn’t seem to have much in common, and there is definitely a significant age gap between the two. However, there has been a lot of mutual support over the years. The pair of them playfully exchanged insults over Instagram recently in a jokey spat, and it was the first time Drake had engaged with another artist online in a while.

On March 13th, Drizzy posted a photo of himself with crossed arms, dressed in a sleeveless sweater and white pants. Still, Yachty quickly commented about Drake’s appearance, writing, “U look like a genie.” The Take Care creator swiftly responded, playfully replying, “You look like Jason Derulo artsy brother.”

This is not the first time Yachty has shown love to Drake. Last year, during Drizzy and Kendrick’s clash, he remained very neutral while everyone else lambasted the Canadian. Speaking about Drake, he insisted, “I don’t think people are gonna stop listening to Drake and Drake’s career is gonna flush,” adding,” I don’t feel like [Drake] won or lost.”

Lil Yachty also told his A Safe Place listeners, “I got a ton of respect for both of these guys. Drake dropped great records.” He also insisted that it was all subjective rather than objective, stating, But also, let’s be fair: Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started because people don’t like him and haven’t.”

In other Drizzy news, the lyricist has yet again chosen to do something very random and seemingly nonsensical. He recently insisted that he wanted to appear on the TANKSGODPOD podcast, which he has called “the only pod that matters.”

However, the show, which is hosted by two young European fashion models, Luda Podgorna and Elena De Napoli, has next to no online presence and just over 100 followers on Instagram. But on his burner account, he posted clips of the hosts playing Would You Rather?” and added the caption, “PL$$$ INVITE ME ON THE ONLY POD THAT MATTERS.”
