Dr Dre will receive a Hollywood star next to Snoop Dogg

It has recently been announced that G-funk pioneer and West Coast legend Dr Dre will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, which will be placed next to his friend and longtime collaborator Snoop Dogg.

According to a press release uploaded by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame selection committee, the ‘Dopeman’ producer will receive the 2,775th star on Hollywood Boulevard. The beatmaker (real name Andre Young) will be honoured in the recording category.

The statement released reads, “Dr. Dre’s contributions to the music industry are undeniable and have left an indelible mark on popular culture. As a producer, rapper, and entrepreneur, Dr. Dre has continuously pushed boundaries and set new standards for excellence.”

It continues, “It is with great pride that we honour his incredible career and extraordinary impact by awarding him a star on the Walk of Fame. Dr. Dre’s star will serve as a lasting symbol of his immense talent and enduring legacy in the world of music. What is special regarding the location chosen for Dr. Dre’s star is that it will be next to the star of his long-time friend Snoop Dogg!”

Snoop Dogg was honoured with a star on the Walk of Fame in 2018, and last year, the late Death Row icon 2Pac was blessed with a star on the walk. Dr Dre was present at Snoop Dogg’s ceremony.

It was not only Dr Dre who was present at Snoop Dogg’s ceremony but an A-list group of figures who had helped him along the way, including, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pharrell Williams, Battlecat, Terrace Martin, Jeannie Buss, DJ Pooh, Big Boy, Bishop Don “Magic” Juan, John Singleton, Jimmy Kimmel, and Warren G.

The date of Dr Dre’s star reveal is currently unknown. However, it is thought that it will take place later this year in his home state of California. You can see the announcement of his honour below.
