Dr Dre reveals Eminem will release a new album this year

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dr Dre revealed that his protégé, Eminem, will release a new album this year, which will see appearances from Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent.

Speaking to the talk show host, Dre explained, “Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year. I actually talked to him, and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show. So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it, and it’s fire.”

Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) hasn’t announced that he will be releasing an album, and Dr Dre gave no official release date for the project during his appearance on the show.

Dre (real name Andre Young) even revealed that he has helped Eminem with some of the production for the body of work, disclosing, “I’m actually gonna hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow. He holds his music close to his chest, so I haven’t heard everything. I haven’t even heard everything complete that I’ve done, but I’m gonna hear it, and he’s putting out an album this year.”

He proceeded to unveil that he has to mix down and provide some audio engineering for the tracks he has produced and is looking forward to hearing the entire album, stating, “There’s things that I have to mix that I’ve done, but I get the chance to hear the album in its entirety.”

Although Mathers has appeared on Cole Bennett’s All is Yellow compilation album, the upcoming project will be his first solo body of work since his 2020 release Music To Be Murdered By. It will also be his eleventh album.

Eminem’s last project received mixed reviews and was criticised by many. The album saw features from the likes of Black Thought, Q-Tip, Juice Wrld, Ed Sheeran, Young M.A, Skylar Grey, Don Toliver, Anderson.Paak and many more.
