Doja Cat announces contribution to ‘Elvis’ biopic soundtrack

Doja Cat has announced she will be contributing a song to the forthcoming Elvis soundtrack.

She previewed the new track, ‘Vegas’, during her set at Coachella, and it’s now been revealed it will appear in the Baz Luhrmann-directed film. It will be arriving in cinemas on June 24th, and Austin Butler has been cast in the lead role.

‘Vegas’ will be dropping next month, although Doja is yet to share a specific date. However, she has released a snippet of the song online, and it features a sample of Big Mama Thornton’s ‘Hound Dog’, which Elvis famously covered.

The full soundtrack will be released later this summer via RCA. A spokesperson told Variety: “The album will include variations on Presley material that include contributions from a number of name artists representing different genres”.

Meanwhile, Post Malone recently shared a clip of a new collaboration with Doja Cat during an Instagram Live. The track is called ‘Happy’ and will feature on his forthcoming album, Twelve Carat Toothache. Postie said about the track: “I’m so blessed and honoured to have worked with her.”

He also posted snippets from more collaborations during the same stream, including with Roddy Ricch, The Kid Laroi, and Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold.
