DJ Akademiks blames Kendrick Lamar for Jay-Z lawsuit
Although it is well-known that DJ Akademiks is a supporter Drake, it’s still surprising that he found a way to connect Kendrick Lamar to Jay-Z following the recent rape allegation. However, the podcaster and streamer has strangely come to the opinion that Lamar is responsible for Jay-Z’s name appearing in a lawsuit connected to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Following an amendment made by Tony Buzbee, Jay-Z has now found himself at the centre of a media firestorm as his name now appears in a lawsuit which alleges he was with Diddy at a 2000 VMAs afterparty during which a 13-year-old girl was raped.
During a stream on Rumble, DJ Akademiks insisted that Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, ‘Not Like Us’, has created an environment where such allegations can “flourish,” alluding to his diss tracks against Drake.
Kendrick’s ‘Not Like Us’ contained some lyrics alleging that Drake may have engaged in paedophilia. However, Akademiks claimed that what Lamar did to Drake is no different to what Tony Buzbee is now doing to Jay-Z and even told Lamar that he shouldn’t get too comfortable.
Speaking to his fans, Akademiks explained, “If you’re on that Kendrick Lamar soapbox thing, every rapper you like is gonna have a lawsuit. Doesn’t mean it’s true. Every woman who feels disgruntled or whatever the case got a fucking accusation — and they know these n*ggas are loaded with money.”
He added, “Kendrick must have forgotten that all of his friends are rappers, and he’s made a lot of money for people on his side. You wouldn’t say [Jay-Z] has a weird case. But it’s easy to gaslight for some other people you don’t like.”
The podcaster then directly blamed Lamar for opening the floodgates for potential lawsuits against rappers based on allegations of paedophilia. Talking to Lamar, Akademiks said, “You caused that because you’re acting like you’re Jesus. Everybody’s profiting off of it because whether it’s true or not, you’ve created an environment where allegations will flourish.”
The podcaster surprisingly also accused Drake of being complicit, adding, “I’ll call Drake out, too, because some of y’all think I’m part of some of this. No. Drake, don’t be calling no n*ggas out for beating their bitch,” referencing his unsubstantiated claimsagainst Kendrick on ‘Family Matters.’
Akademiks concluded by addressing Lamar’s lyric about Baka Not Nice’s legal issues, telling the emcee, “Kendrick, don’t be calling no n*gga out for no weird case. Both of y’all n*ggas is stupid ’cause both of y’all got homies that beat their bitch and got weird cases. Y’all both are just fucking up the game. And now they got the king fish, they got his head in the beam.”
Unsurprisingly, Lamar hasn’t responded to DJ Akademiks, but Jay-Z did respond to Tony Buzbee’s amendment in a statement reading, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”
He continued, “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case. This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics!” The rap legend has also filed his own lawsuit against Buzbee, accusing him of extortion.
