Denzel Curry has recruited T-Pain for his new single, ‘Troubles’.
The track is the latest release from Curry’s forthcoming album, Melt My Eyez See Your Future which arrives on Friday and follows on from the recent single ‘Zatoichi’ with Slowthai. It’s a woozy effort with their two contrasting delivery techniques combining fluently on ‘Troubles’.
Curry gradually ramps up the aggression throughout the track, and T-Pain gives everything you’d expect from the veteran who again tinkers masterfully with technology to pollute his vocals which works a treat.
On the refrain, Curry energetically spits: “Ain’t nothin’ left to do but now a n**** gotta hustle, I got it out the mud and then I did it off the muscle, Manoeuvre through the game, I put my niggas in the huddle, Now we all just runnin’ round, some fittin’ pieces to the puzzle.”
With the snippets from Melt My Eyez See Your Future that Curry has shared so far, excitement is sky-high. In a recent discussion about the album, the rapper said: “I like traditional hip hop, I like drum and bass, I like trap, I like poetry, so a lot of that is going to be interwoven in this album including jazz and a lot of genres that I came up on as a kid and just being in my parents’ house.”
He added: “This album is made up of everything that I couldn’t give you on TA13OO or Imperial because I was going through depression anger issues.”
