Denzel Curry and Slowthai team up for new single 'Zatoichi'

Denzel Curry has teamed up with Slowthai for his drum and bass style new single ‘Zatoichi’.

The new release is a vibe shift from the rapper, and the decision to join forces with the British rapper is one that pays dividends on the infectious track. The song is set to appear on Curry’s upcoming album, Melt My Eyez See Your Future.

Thai takes charge of the chorus, and while he doesn’t deliver any bars, he still adds plentiful bundles of ferocious energy which blends frantically with Curry.

Appearing on Radio 1, Curry explained that he’s always loved drum and bass, especially the iconic DJ, Goldie. The idea to bring Slowthai on to the track was initially by his manager who felt it would be appropriate to bring a Brit on the track as a homage to the genre, and he now classes Slowthai as one of his close friends.

Recently discussing his new album, Curry said: “I like traditional hip hop, I like drum and bass, I like trap, I like poetry, so a lot of that is going to be interwoven in this album including jazz and a lot of genres that I came up on as a kid and just being in my parents’ house.”

He added: “This album is made up of everything that I couldn’t give you on TA13OO or Imperial because I was going through depression anger issues.”
