Denzel Curry releases 'SKED' featuring Kenny Mason

Florida’s Denzel Curry has dropped ‘SKED’, a new track featuring the Atlanta-based rapper, Kenny Mason. The song arrives with a video directed by Omar Jones.

Produced by Charlie Heat, the rumbling track discusses Curry’s paranoia and growing up in Carol City, Florida. “I don’t go to sleep without a Glock by my bed,” he says in the chorus. “I don’t say no names ’cause them boys might be the feds/I’m about my family, God, business, and my bread.”

Following Curry’s wordplay, in Mason’s verse, he touches on gun use. “Power Ranger Glock, bullets came in different colours,” he adds. “Bitch, the crib I’m in got more sticks than acupuncture/Ain’t on safety, press to coverage, who in the fuck he think he pressin’?”

‘SKED’, ‘Ice Cold Zel’, and ‘BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ’ are Curry’s first original singles of 2023. They follow on from the EP,  Live At Electric Lady, which arrived in May in partnership with Spotify.

Notably, that release also saw him reconnect with the Cold Blooded Soul Band, who backed him on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

Elsewhere, earlier this year, Curry revealed that he’s a big fan of American groove metal pioneers Pantera. Featuring frontman Phil Anselmo and the late guitarist Dimebag Darrell, their best-known tracks include ‘Cowboys from Hell’ and ‘Walk’.
