Denzel Curry has unveiled a soul re-issue of ‘Melt My Eyez ’

Florida rapper Denzel Curry has revealed that he will be releasing a soul-infused deluxe reissue of his latest album, Melt My Eyez See Your Future in collaboration with The Cold Blooded Soul Band. This deluxe re-issue will have several exclusive tracks, especially recorded for this alternative version of his fifth studio album.

In a recently unveiled press release, Curry detailed that for this re-issue, the ten-piece band contributed extra guitar, bass, keys, drums, and percussion, as well as a four-piece horn ensemble and a backing vocalist. According to Curry and his team, the entire second disc of this re-issue was recorded in one take, with each track blending into the next.

The Florida rapper first introduced his collaborators, The Cold Blooded Soul Band, back in June during his appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. The standard issue of  Melt My Eyez See Your Future featured eight tracks. However, this new exclusive re-issue will include two previously unheard album cuts entitled ‘Chrome Hearts’ and ‘Larger Than Life’.

The rapper, never one to rest on his laurels, as well as announcing this re-issue, has released a new music video for his track ‘X-Wing’. This latest video, thematically, continues exploring samurai culture. We see the rapper samurai sword-wielding his enemies in a futuristic city inspired by the cyberpunk aesthetic, which is prevalent on the social media site Tumblr at the moment.

The video is not too dissimilar to the visuals for ‘Zatoichi’ featuring UK artist SlowThai. The ‘X-Wing’ video was directed by Adrian Villagomez and produced by Curry alongside renowned visual producer David Wept.

Melt My Eyez See Your Future: The Extended Edition is already available to pre-order across all music streaming platforms, with the tracklisting already released alongside the cover art. You can watch the rapper’s new video for ‘X-Wing’ below.
