Def Jam has seemingly confirmed the new Kanye West album, and it could arrive as soon as this week.
Rumours of the new album emerged a few days ago when social media personality Justin LaBoy revealed that he and NBA star Kevin Durant had heard the new album. LaBoy even accompanied the post with an image of the three together after the apparent listening party.
The RevoltTV presenter wrote: “Kanye played his new album for me & @KDTrey5 last night in Vegas. Man listen! The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like he’s broke & hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back Respectfully”.
He then added in no uncertain terms: “ALBUM OF THE YEAR. DONT @ ME”.
In a post made hours later, LaBoy then said: “Kanye West album is really done,” he wrote. “When it drops this week, we probably not going to listen to anything else for a while.”
It then emerged that West had held a listening party for the new record in Las Vegas, and Def Jam delivered their short but sweet verdict on the album. The legendary label’s tweet simply read: “YZY SZN”.
Meanwhile, producer Teddy Walton posted: “Honestly can’t wait till [Kanye West] drop,” he wrote. “And I’m glad to be apart [sic] of history… See y’all soon.”
Everything is leading towards the new album dropping this Friday, and anticipation couldn’t be more heightened. After a couple of duds from Kanye, could the real Yeezy be making a comeback? We’ll have to wait and find out.
