Dave Chappelle brings out Kanye West despite past disses

Dave Chappelle brought out Kanye West during a comedy show over the weekend.

The comedian welcomed Ye onto the stage at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, on May 3rd.

After finishing his stand-up set, Chappelle joked, “Kanye West has lost more money than I’ve ever made.” Ye received a standing ovation and shook the hands of those in the audience.

The Chicago rapper previously attacked Chappelle in February 2025 during an antisemitic tirade on X (formerly Twitter).

“Why do I target Dave Chapelle,” he began. “Cause yall think he speaking for black people when he’s really a voice for Jewish agendas.”

He continued, “Now put this k*on ass n*gga up on stage and let him do his k*on shit while I name comedians that are way funnier than you that don’t have as big a name. How you gone call yourself the funniest man on earth right in front of Chris Rock Who’s name is actually bigger than yours.”

In other posts, Kanye claimed fellow comedians Louis C.K. and Jerod Carmichael were funnier than Chappelle. “The goat Louis C. K. Is funnier than Dave Chapelle,” he wrote. “Did yall know he wrote Pootie Tang. Brilliant.”

In another post, he said, “Jerod Carmichael is funnier than Dave Chapelle I miss you family and I’m sorry if I ever said any gay jokes in front of you not knowing you was gay. You are one of the most brilliant people. And yes I said I miss you knowing people will try to flip that.”

Kanye and Chappelle have known each other for years, with Ye performing ‘The Food’ with Common on Chappelle’s Show in 2004. He also appeared in the concert film Dave Chappelle’s Block Party alongside The Roots and Mos Def.
