Dame Dash oddly appears on 'Diary Of A CEO' podcast

Dame Dash is a known name in hip hop. However, he has never been known as a rapper nor a producer. He has always been lauded and respected as a businessman. As a co-founder of Roc-A-Fella alongside Jay-Z, Dame Dash (real name Damon Dash) is known as a money man who cuts the cheques behind the scenes.

However, that’s not to say that Dash is a perfect and always respectable figure. If there is one thing that Dame Dash is known for beyond business, it’s his ongoing feud with his brothers. Appearing on the TV show Family Therapy With Dr Jenn in 2016, Dash and his brothers were feuding due to what they described as the “superiority complex” possessed by Dame. The program showed the Roc-A-Fella co-founder in a bad light, and hip hop saw another side to the man.

Irrespective of the television show, there is no denying that Dash is a wealthy man and has profited greatly from his venture with Jay-Z. Not only did Dash co-found Roc-A-Fella Records, but he was also part of all the brand’s extensions, including Roc-A-Wear and Roc Nation.

Now, Dash has chosen to appear on Stephen Bartlett’s Diary Of A CEO podcast to talk about business and building an empire with Jay-Z. However, as he and Jay-Z are no longer on speaking terms, the conversation was extremely interesting.

Speaking to Bartlett, Dash explains how he met Jay-Z and how they formed Roc-A-Fella in the 1990s. He speaks on how he met Kanye and blasts him for his current controversies, and he also speaks on Jay-Z’s career and the trajectory that it has taken since the two parted ways some time ago. As the interview progresses, he goes on to label Carter a “sellout” and inferring a bit of backstabbing from the artist, he states, “he did things I thought he would never do”.

The interview is odd and has appeared very suddenly. Not the kind of guest Bartlett usually features on his podcast, but it is a great listen and a great watch as it is also available on YouTube. You can watch the full interview in the video below.
