Clipse’s ‘Let God Sort Em Out’ debuts at number four on Billboard 200
Clipse‘s new album, Let God Sort Em Out, opened at number four on the Billboard 200 chart. The duo of Pusha T and Malice released their first project in 16 years on July 11th.
Let God Sort Em Out debuted with 118,000 units in its first week, comprising 59,000 SEA units (77.49 million on-demand song streams), 58,000 pure album sales and 1,000 TEA units.
The album was available on CD and vinyl, digitally, and on streaming services, with one bonus track. Clipse released four different vinyl options, three CD versions, and two cassette tapes, in addition to over a dozen box sets.
The two singles ‘Ace Trumpets’ and ‘So Be It’ supported the project, with the latter notably dissing Travis Scott.
Let God Sort Em Out is their second top-10 effort, following their debut album, Lord Willin’, which reached number four in 2002.
Clipse’s last album, Til the Casket Drops, only reached number 41 in 2009 with 62,000 units sold in its first week.
Pusha told Vulture about their new album, “I think the album shows the supreme maturation of a rap duo. I think this is where you get the difference between taste and filler. This music is curated. This is a high-taste-level piece of work.
“You can only have that level of taste when you have the fundamentals down to a science. I think it’s been definitely missing. Then there’s the competitive aspect.”
Elsewhere on this week’s chart, Travis Scott debuted at number one with Jackboys 2 alongside his Jackboys collective. The group of Scott, Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, Wallie the Sensei, Luxury Tax 50 and Chase B beat Justin Bieber’s Swag to the top by selling 232,000 units.
