
Chris Brown fires back at criticism of his new album: “Fuck them”
Chris Brown has responded to negative reviews of his new album.
The 37-year-old released his 12th studio album, Brown, on May 8th, but many fans and critics have slammed the project.
Some of the most notable backlash has come from Pitchfork, giving the album a rating of 1.1 out of 10. In the review, the writer said, “This album is a real piece of shit.”
Taking to social media this week, Breezy responded to the criticism by standing by his body of work.
“Team Breezy, I know people want me to get on here and, you know, say some sad shit, but fuck that,” he said in an Instagram video. “We kickin’ they ass, goddammit. We ain’t lettin’ up. I’mma keep my foot on they neck and we ain’t stopping. You heard me?”
He added, “We doing this motherfucker. Tour, more shit to come. I’m not gon’ tell you what’s more to come, but it’s coming, at the end of the day.”
In another post, he wrote, “I don’t give a fuck what these n*ggas is talkin’ about. I know exactly who my fans is and I know exactly who hearing this album. If you not my fan, I don’t want you to listen to my shit. Go listen to motherfuckin’ Zara Larsson or somebody. Fuck them.”
Brown, an abbreviation of Break Rules Only When Necessary, includes 27 songs and was released through RCA Records. Features on the album come from NBA YoungBoy, GloRilla, Vybz Kartel, Sexyy Red, Bryson Tiller, and others.
It serves as his first album in three years following 11:11 in November 2023, which reached number nine on the Billboard 200 chart.
