Chris Brown’s alleged nightclub attack lawsuit dismissed

The man who accused Chris Brown of attacking him at a nightclub in 2023 has dismissed his lawsuit against him. According to LA County court documents, the accuser, Abe Diaw, dropped the suit on June 27th.

Music producer Diaw alleged the singer hit him multiple times at the Tape nightclub in London in February 2023, using a bottle of Don Julio 1942. He claimed the incident left him injured and unconscious.

Despite dropping the lawsuit, Brown is still facing criminal charges, including one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, as well as other counts of assault causing bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

Billboard reports that the suit was dismissed with prejudice and can’t be refiled. It’s unclear whether a settlement was reached.

Brown was arrested in Manchester on May 15th after arriving in Europe to prepare for his tour. He was released on a $6.75million bond on May 21st.

On June 20th, he pleaded not guilty to a serious assault charge and will appear in court again on July 11th. The trial is set to begin on October 26th, 2026.

Despite the charges, Brown has been performing across the UK on his The Breezy Bowl XX tour, which has seen him bring out Tyga as a special guest.

He performed two shows at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month, and others in Manchester, Cardiff, and Birmingham. He’s set to perform at Hampden Park in Glasgow on July 1st, followed by another date at Co-op Live in Manchester on July 3rd.

In his first performance after being arrested at the five-star Lowry hotel in Salford, Greater Manchester, Brown told fans, “Thank you to the jail, it was really nice.”
