Childish Gambino gives Kanye West G.O.A.T. status

Renowned rapper and actor Childish Gambino (real name Donald Glover) recently spoke about the highly controversial figure Kanye West and revealed that despite his crazy comments and manic public meltdowns, he is still the G.O.A.T. rapper.

In an interview with the Complex YouTube series G.O.A.T. Talk alongside his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star Maya Erskine, when asked who he considers to be the greatest rapper of all time, Glover responded, “To me? Kanye. To me.”

He continued, “I know that’s controversial, but I feel like we would not have any of the rappers we have now without him. That’s just for me.” Since late 2022, many in hip-hop have lost respect for West and a recent snippet of him ranting about Zionism hasn’t helped his cause.

Childish Gambino is an exciting alternative hip-hop artist who can rap, sing and act. That said, fans may see a new project from the Georgia emcee. In December, while he was leaving a hotel in New York, hip-hop media outlet TMZ caught up with Glover and asked him about upcoming material.

He assured fans that a new music project is currently in the works. In early December last year, Glover alluded to releasing a tenth-anniversary deluxe re-release of his sophomore effort, Because The Internet.

Taking to Instagram, the lyricist uploaded a cryptic clip that featured what appeared to be cheering from a concert crowd and the moving blueprints of a home with pillars and a fireplace.

Fans noticed that the graphics were the same as the symbols projected during his 2013 Deep Web Tour that followed the release of Because The Internet. In an interview with Complex in October, Gambino spoke about the possibility of releasing new music. However, he has still been elusive and opaque about any upcoming material.
