Chief Keef announces Chicago homecoming show
Chief Keef has announced that he’s returning to Chicago later this year.
The Chicago rapper released his new album, Skeletor, in March, and now he’s revealed that he’ll be hitting the road.
This week, Keef announced that he’s touring North America in September and October, kicking off the tour with a homecoming show at Northerly Island in Chicago.
From there, he’ll head to Detroit, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and other major cities.
Keef grew up in Parkway Garden Homes, widely known as O Block, on Chicago’s South Side. Fellow rappers such as Lil Durk, King Von, and Fredo Santana also lived in the same apartment complex.
In 2024, Keef performed in Chicago for the first time in over a decade. Speaking to the Grammys, he said, “I ain’t gonna lie, it’s gonna be like I’m a tourist when I go there. It’s been a long, long time. It’s been like 11, 12 years since I touched the pavement in Chicago, or Illinois, period. I’m ready.”
He continued, “I know it’s going to be a big thing. A lot of new people probably think I’m a ghost. There probably be teachers like, ‘Yeah, he went to this school,’ [and the students will be like,] ‘No, no, he ain’t real.'”
His last project, Skeletor, consists of 14 tracks featuring G Herbo, Rich The Kid, Ian, and Ballout. It served as the follow-up to Almighty So 2, which was released in 2024.
