Charges dropped against alleged drug mule for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

An affiliate of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been cleared of all felony charges after prosecutors in Florida offered him a plea deal. The defendant, 25-year-old Brendan Paul, was arrested in March, accused of being a drug mule for Combs and charged with transportation of drugs, including cocaine and marijuana, across state lines.

Paul was taken into custody in March, shortly after Homeland Security decided to raid Combs residences in Los Angeles and Miami Beach. The young affiliate of Combs was apprehended by law enforcement in Opa-Locka airport, and he was thought to be part of Combs’ sex trafficking operation.

Brendan Paul was also named by Lil Rod in his sexual assault lawsuit against Combs. In the lawsuit, the producer asserted that Brendan Paul was a drug mule for Combs, who allegedly provided drugs and guns to Combs and other employees of the Bad Boy empire.

Lil Rod insisted that he saw Paul partake in these alleged crimes first-hand. However, in May, because he was a first-time offender, prosecutors decided that pertaining to his drug charges, he could avoid jail time if he accepted a plea deal. The conditions of the agreement meant that he would have to enrol in and complete a drug diversion program.

The programme ended on December 17th. Concerning the other charges Paul faced in court, his attorney, Brian Bieber, claimed that the case should be “dismissed in its entirety,” considering his completion of the programme and cooperation with the court. It has been recently reported that Florida state prosecutors dropped the remaining charge against Brendan Paul.

Speaking to NBC6, Biber confirmed, “Mr. Paul’s case was formally dismissed today – in its entirety.” Although Brendan Paul’s case has now been dismissed, Combs still remains behind bars. Due to his failure to receive bail, it was revealed last month that he would have to spend Thanksgiving in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, and as he has chosen not to appeal the decision, he will now also be spending Christmas in the MDC.

Combs pleaded not guilty to serious federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. He remains held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre. His trial is set for May 2025. Since his third request for bail, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee has done more interviews and filed another lawsuit, one involving Jay-Z, who denies the allegation.
