Cardi B writes a heartfelt letter to Kamala Harris after election loss
Following the news that Kamala Harris lost the American election to Donald Trump, one of her biggest supporters, Cardi B, has penned a heartfelt letter letting the Vice President know how much it meant to her to have a woman of colour in the race to the White House.
Cardi B appeared at Harris’ Milwaukee rally in Wisconsin, a state which Harris ended up losing. However, despite her election loss, Cardi wrote a letter of support to reveal that despite the Vice President’s loss to Donald Trump, she’s still proud of her.
On November 6th, Cardi shared her public message, writing, “[N]o matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for the presidency, they can never say you didn’t run your race with honesty and with integrity!”
The Invasion Of Privacy creator continued, “You really put up a fight against all the odds that were already stacked against you! You really wanted better for ALL of us! This may not be much, but I am so proud of you!”
The rapper reiterated what she said during her speech, which is that until Harris stepped up as the Democratic nominee, she wasn’t enthusiastic about either party, writing, “No one has ever made me change my mind, and you did! I never thought I would see the day that a woman of colour would be running for President of the United States, but you have shown me, showed my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible.”
The ‘WAP’ rhymer spoke at Harris’ rally in the Wisconsin State Fair Exposition Center which boasted a range of special guests, including GloRilla, Flo Milli and MC Lyte. During her speech, Cardi admitted she wasn’t gonna vote in the 2024 election but insisted that Harris was the reason she was going to head to the polls on November 5th, declaring, “I’m gonna be real with y’all: I wasn’t gonna vote this year. But Kamala Harris joining the race; she changed my mind completely! I did not have faith in any candidates until she joined the race and said the things that I wanted to hear, that I want to see next in this country.”
She also brought up abortion rights, stating, “We all knew Trump was a hustler. But hustling women out of their rights to their body is nasty work. Hustling Americans out of their hard-earned money by selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers and Trump Bibles…is nasty too!”
Although Cardi is most likely disappointed at the results of the election, she has proved that she is still proud that Harris was even in the race.
