Cardi B wins $60,000 from blogger over Offset posts

Cardi B has won $60,000 from a blogger over posts related to Offset and Stefon Diggs.

The Bronx rapper won a $4 million defamation lawsuit against Tasha K (real name Latasha Kebe) in 2022, but agreed to delay collecting the full amount if she stopped disparaging her online.

However, she allegedly violated that agreement, with Cardi’s lawyers claiming she made posts about her estranged husband, Offset, and the father of her child, Stefon Diggs.

According to Rolling Stone, a ruling on June 30th revealed they agreed “to avoid the expense, delay and uncertainty of further litigation” over the total amount.

Cardi asked the judge to impose “economically painful” sanctions on Tasha in April, with her lawyers being forced to monitor her social media accounts.

They allege that there have been over two dozen “egregious violations” of the clause.

“Debtor still believes that she is above the law, consequences, and is invulnerable,” the filing said. “And what makes this pattern of defiance particularly egregious is not merely the violations themselves, but what debtor has openly admitted in public broadcasts.”

It continued, “She has made clear that she intends to resume harassment of Ms Almánzar once her debt is paid off.”

Speaking after the trial in 2022, Cardi revealed how hurt she was by the whole thing. “After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness,” she said. “During this trial, all of you have learned about the darkest time in my life.”

She added, “That moment in time was fuelled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online.”
