Cardi B confirms new relationship and gets response from Offset

Cardi B has confirmed she’s in a new relationship amid her messy divorce from Offset. The Bronx rapper went Instagram official with NFL star Stefon Diggs on June 1st, sharing a photo of them cosying up on a boat. As part of the carousel, she also shared a video of herself twerking as Diggs slapped her buttocks.

Following the post, Offset took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his reaction, writing in a since-deleted post, “Good roll out n PR.” While Cardi and Diggs have been linked for a while, this is the first time they’ve gone public on social media.

Diggs, 31, is a wide receiver for the New England Patriots, having previously played for the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, and Minnesota Vikings.

Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024 after seven years of marriage. This came after submitting a divorce petition in September 2020 before dismissing it months later. The couple had reportedly “grown apart” amid rumours that infidelity was the reason for their issues. After an amicable split in December 2018, Cardi claimed they “grew out of love.”

Talking to fans on Instagram Live, she said, “I just got tired of fucking arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye. When you feel like it’s just not the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I’d rather just leave. Nothing crazy out of this world happened, sometimes people really do grow apart.”

Then, during an interview with Vogue in December 2019, Cardi admitted to Offset cheating on her. In March this year, she accused Offset of threatening to kill her.

“This guy is upset because I sent his girlfriend text messages of him begging me,” she said. “Saying he was going to take away his life, saying he was going to take away my life. He’s mad about that. Mind you, this man sent text messages to somebody that I was dealing with of me and him having sex. That’s the type of shit I’ve been dealing with for the past two months.”
