Cardi B makes surprise appearance during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show
Bad Bunny headlined the Super Bowl halftime show over the weekend and was joined on stage by Cardi B.
The Puerto Rican artist put on a monumental show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8th.
Bunny performed hits such as ‘DTMF’, ‘Baile Inolvidable’, ‘Nuevayol’, and ‘Eoo’, as the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13.
During the set, Cardi made an appearance on stage for ‘Yo Perreo Sola’. While she didn’t perform any vocals, she danced alongside Pedro Pascal, Karol G, Alix Earle, and Jessica Alba.
They appeared in La Casita, the traditional Puerto Rican home that was in Bunny’s No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí concert residency last summer.
Cardi and Bunny previously collaborated in 2018 on ‘I Like It’ from her Invasion of Privacy album. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ahead of the halftime show, Cardi said, “I’m actually very, very proud of everything he’s been standing up for, against ICE and everything. I feel like everything is aligned and shows how Hispanics, Latinos, whatever you want to call us, you know everybody got different terms. We’re all standing motherfucking strong, OK?”
Last year, Cardi revealed she got an offer to headline a halftime show but turned it down, while explaining her reason.
“I got asked to do the Super Bowl, and I denied it,” she said. “I feel like soon, if I get to do it, I’m going to have more hits. I’m going to be more experienced, and I’m going to eat that up.”
Cardi’s partner, NFL player Stefon Diggs, who is also the father of her recent child, was part of the Super Bowl as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots.
