Cardi B accused of destroying ‘SNL’ equipment over Nicki Minaj joke
Cardi B performed on Saturday Night Live last month and was reportedly enraged after a Nicki Minaj joke was made.
During her appearance on SNL, Cardi performed ‘Bodega Baddie’ and ‘ErrTime’ from her new album, Am I the Drama?.
However, according to TMZ, Cardi flipped out backstage when Nicki’s name was mentioned. The “Weekend Update” anchors ran a joke about Nicki, prompting Cardi to allegedly destroy equipment during her rehearsal.
Despite having nothing to do with her, Cardi reportedly “lost it” over a joke relating to Nicki’s affiliation with Donald Trump.
She allegedly took issue with the reference due to her longtime beef with Nicki, who recently disrespected her kids online.
Cardi is accused of threatening to leave the building and throwing her phone at a TV monitor, before punching a screen in the producers’ office until it broke.
The screen allegedly needed to be replaced before the rehearsal started, and caused the set to be scared and unsettled.
The Bronx rapper came across the story and took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the alleged incident. “Hmmm all these little random stories…” she told her followers. “Fck it, let them talk, let them eat cake, let them come to the ballllll.”
Nicki called her daughter “ugly” last year. Cardi then targeted her son, claiming she had taken drugs that affected him.
“Bitch you wish you could call my daughter ugly.. Kulture is beautiful and you know that,” she said. “Your hate is so deep dark and nasty because your son nonverbal cuz you fucked him up wit them drugs so you jealous of everybody kids and their happiness!!! BITCH WHERE TF YOU AT STOP TALKING.”
