Brooklyn rapper shot outside his home dies in front of 17-year-old brother

A Brooklyn rapper who was shot and killed outside his home died in front of his 17-year-old brother.

18-year-old BOE Quahh (real name Quahmir Cruz), known for songs like ‘3 O’s Not 2’ and ‘OE Anthem’, lost his life in broad daylight on May 10th after being shot in the chest.

The incident took place outside his Brownsville home in NYCHA’s Van Dyke Houses, located on Blake Avenue near Mother Gaston Boulevard.

Quahh’s family members, including his brother and mother, spoke to the New York Daily News about his death on May 12th.

His teenage brother, Daiveon Cruz, revealed that he was cleaning his bedroom when he heard gunshots and rushed to the scene.

“When I found him, I had to carry him and put him on the stretcher,” he said. “He kept saying my nickname. He was saying, ‘DaiDai, DaiDai.’ To know that he’s gone and I can’t do nothing about it, it really hurts me.

He added, “Honestly, I’m not OK. It’s just crazy. That was my best friend. My first friend.”

Quahh was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His mother, Danielle Cruz, also revealed her heartbreak, having lost her son on Mother’s Day.

“My heart is broken into pieces,” she said. “I miss him so much. I feel like a piece of me is gone. You know, sometimes we get pulled in with negative things. My baby was smarter than that. But I ain’t gonna preach.”

She continued, “I’m just gonna pray, and I want y’all to promise to God, my boy is gonna be remembered. Because after the storm is over, it still continues for us. This is my reality. My baby is gone.”
