Boosie Badazz sued for allegedly smashing glass over Houston security guard’s head
Boosie Badazz has been sued for allegedly smashing a glass hookah over a man’s head.
The Baton Rouge rapper (real name Torence Hatch) was charged with aggravated assault over the incident that took place at the Dome nightclub in Houston on May 24th.
Now, according to TMZ, the security guard, Edward Iglehart, has filed a lawsuit against him.
Iglehart has sued Boosie for not only assault and battery, but defamation for allegedly making false claims about him on social media.
The man claims that he was working security in the VIP area of an event where Boosie was performing. Towards the end of the night, a woman allegedly came up to him and asked if she could re-enter to use the bathroom.
He alleges that he pointed the woman to another security guard to determine whether she was allowed in. From there, he accuses her of berating him and hitting him.
Iglehart claims he grabbed the woman and led her away until she fell onto the floor, before he was allegedly struck by Boosie with a glass hookah. He suffered heavy bleeding and was taken to the hospital.
At the time he was charged, Boosie described it as a “money grab.” His lawyer, Carl A Moore, added, “We plan to vigorously investigate and defend Mr Hatch against these allegations – we wish everyone would reserve any judgment and allow this case to play out in court.”
He adds, “Mr Hatch was trying to defend his female relative who was being escorted out of the club by the security guard. He was trying to de-escalate the situation. We’re trying to obtain any surveillance from the club that will show what exactly happened.”
