Prosecutors seek two-year prison sentence for Boosie Badazz

Prosecutors are claiming Boosie Badazz should be put behind bars for years as a result of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The Baton Rouge rapper is scheduled to be sentenced in his federal gun case on January 9th after it was pushed back from November 21st.

In court documents obtained by reporter Meghann Cuniff, prosecutors stated they want Boosie to serve a two-year prison sentence. Probation also recommends four years in jail.

“The facts of this case are detailed well in the plea agreement and PSR, which are incorporated herein by reference,” the documents read. “Here, the United States provides a summary of the case to supply the court with the basis for the United States guidelines calculations and sentencing recommendation.”

They continued, “On May 6, 2023, San Diego police identified Defendant while watching the Instagram Live of a known member of the ‘Neighborhood Crip’ street gang. PSR 4. Defendant was seen in the Instagram Live with a gun tucked in his waistband as he appeared to be filming a music video.”

Boosie addressed his upcoming sentencing on The Breakfast Club last year, revealing that he was staying positive.

“I’m confident like a muthafucka,” he said. “I ain’t going to jail. I don’t speak that out my mouth. I’m from down South. Your word, your mouth, is a powerful source.”

However, he added, “It’s still up to the judge. It’s up to God, but it’s up to the judge. You know, people saying, ‘He gotta do two years.’ That’s not a fact of this case. It’s up to the judge what the judge wanna do.”

Boosie is hoping for a pardon from Donald Trump, having begged the US president to help his legal case on several occasions.
