Boosie Badazz demands pardon from Trump at White House party

Louisiana emcee Boosie Badazz is still on a quest to get a pardon from President Donald Trump, and he recently met with the President at an event celebrating Black History Month at the White House. The ‘Wipe Me Down’ rhymer took to Instagram after the event with a photo of himself at the White House with the caption, “Just Looking For Justice.”

Still, the reaction to the Baton Rouge emcee’s post was mixed. Many were frustrated to see the musician embracing Donald Trump, while others merely commented on his choice of attire. One user commented, “Shucking and jiving at an all-time high,” while another wrote, “It’s the furry fashion nova boots and hooter tights for me.”

Another fan even accused Boosie of embarrassing Black Americans, writing, “All that money just to go to the White House in a suit from Ross. He stays embarrassing our community.” However, some of his followers were more supportive of his aims and reassured the ‘Set It Off’ rapper that he was doing the right thing.

One user combatted the negativity in the comments section, posting, “Get that pardon, Boosie! Don’t listen to them! They can’t help you!” However, most of the response to Boosie’s White House visit was mockery. With posts such as “Lmfaoooo Boosie said shiiiiiiid let me see if I can get this pardon!” and “Boosie got his mouth and legs wide open for that pardon”, people saw a sense of desperation.

Boosie’s desire for a pardon began in January, as he is currently facing a federal gun charge in San Diego. The emcee has emphasised several times that this case was dismissed during Trump’s last term but revived once Joe Biden entered office. He then compared his charge to Hunter Biden’s and insisted that his treatment was unfair, considering Hunter’s pardon.

Boosie has suggested he could be the only person in the US dealing with this kind of charge. He also brought up his previous 10-year sentence for possession of marijuana and blasted the legal system for incarcerating him without presenting the option of rehab.

Since the return of Donald Trump to the White House, he has urged his followers to use the hashtag #TrumpPardonBoosie on social media and his attorney, Meghan Blanco, supports his mission as she believes the charges he faces are excessive.

When Trump won the US election in November last year, the Louisiana icon expressed his excitement about another presidential term, and in an Instagram Live video, Boosie told his followers that he was looking forward to better tax breaks. Like fellow Louisiana lyricist Lil Wayne, Boosie Badazz lost faith in the Democrats and has turned to the Republican party for leadership since 2016. Still, his political stance has angered many in hip-hop.
