Boosie Badazz admitted he was once robbed in LA: "I know it ain't safe"

Baton-Rouge emcee Boosie Badazz regularly gives his opinion on hip-hop, scathes other artists and boasts about how unapologetically real he is. However, in an interview with Noreaga and DJ EFN on the Drink Chaps podcast, the ‘Wipe Me Down’ rhymer admitted that he was once robbed in Los Angeles.

During his conversation, the Louisiana act unveiled that he had experienced several run-ins in LA and encouraged other MCs to always have an entourage with them for protection when they visit the city.

Known for its highly potent gang culture and divided areas, LA is widely considered the home of the Bloods and Crips, a culture that not only spread across the US but internationally with variants of the sets in Canada, the UK and beyond.

Speaking with the hosts, Boosie (real name Torrence Hatch) revealed that his truck was stolen when he was in the city to record an episode of the No Jumper podcast. Detailing the event, Hatch exclaimed, “Bro, we got so many dudes that got robbed in LA who ain’t talking about it! That muthafucka dangerous. It’s really dangerous. I was at No Jumper, and n*ggas stole our truck!”

Recalling another occasion involving one of his friends, Hatch remembered, “I’m at a strip club, they break into one of my other bitches’ car! Aye bruh, they out to get it. They tried to get my artist. Like bro, this shit real out there!” The Baton Rouge native revealed he runs at least “10 deep” every time he visits Los Angeles for his own protection.

Badazz unveiled that he doesn’t even stay in the city long and admitted that he takes all of his Baton-Rouge crew with him, stating, “I move kinda deep. I bring all my people from Louisiana, and I’m in and out. N-gga, I’m not hanging in no LA. I’m coming to do a deal, whoop de woo, and I’m out probably the next day.”

He concluded, “I know it ain’t safe. My people know it ain’t safe, the whole industry know. N*ggas getting jacked out there. You gotta be ready!” Several rappers have been killed while in LA. In 2022, PnB Rock was robbed and murdered at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in South Los Angeles. Moreover, in 2019, Nipsey Hussle was killed in a drive-by shooting.
