Birdman says Bad Bunny was an OVO artist from "day one"

Louisiana mogul and founder of Cash Money Birdman has recently decided to speak about the Puerto Rican singer and rapper Bad Bunny, insistent that he has been signed to Drake’s OVO label since “Day one!”

Bad Bunny appeared out of nowhere and rapidly rose to fame. The singer and rapper (real name Benito Ocasio) has collaborated with the likes of Drake, Cardi B and Travis Scott. However, Birdman insists this is simply because he signed with Drake years ago.

In a conversation with industry bully Wack 100 on Clubhouse, the New Orleans label executive asserted the Puerto Rican superstar has been secretly signed to OVO since the start of his career. Elaborating, Birdman stated, “Bad Bunny already signed to Drake. Y’all just don’t know it. We going up, man…[He’s been signed under] OVO [since] day one.”

Drake and Bad Bunny first collaborated in 2018 for their joint track ‘MIA.’ The single was released through OVO and the Latin label Rimas Entertainment. However, no other songs of Ocasio have been released through OVO, according to official credits.

Ocasio’s forthcoming album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, will also be available on streaming platforms later this month. Still, once again, it does not credit OVO either.

Birdman (real name Bryan Williams) has been very critical of Drake recently, and as the founder of Cash Money (the parent company of Young Money), ensures fans there is more to Drake than what meets the eye concerning secret business.

Williams is not the only person who has scrutinised Drake ahead of his album release. Charlamagne Tha God has also called Drake out a number of times. Furthermore, the Canadian even took time out to address him, labelling him a “fucking goof.”
