Beyoncé and Kanye West collaborator The-Dream accused of rape

Beyoncé and Kanye West collaborator The-Dream (real name Terius Gesteelde-Diamant) has been accused of raping a former protégé in a new lawsuit filed by Chanaaz Mangroe.

In the lawsuit filed, Mangroe claims that the producer forced her to have sex, choked her and then blackmailed her by secretly filming a sexual encounter, then threatening to release it to the public.

The-Dream is a songwriter and producer and has written songs for Beyoncé, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey. The musician has denied all the allegations made against him by Mangroe.

The 60-page lawsuit sees Mangroe seeking damages for “lost wages” and for “mental pain and anguish and severe emotional distress”. However, she is yet to comment publicly on the case.

The 33-year-old is originally from The Netherlands and wanted to be a mainstream singer and songwriter, and first met Terius Gesteelde-Diamant in 2015. According to the lawsuit, the producer “told her that he would make her the next Beyoncé and Rihanna”.

Mangroe also alleges that she was told that compulsory sex was “part of the process”. In a detailed account, she recalled he regularly subjected her to physical abuse, forced her to drink “excessive amounts of alcohol”, and insisted on multiple occasions during sex she “almost lost consciousness”.

In a disturbing account, Mangroe accused The-Dream of locking her in a dark room and “would only stop aggressively having sex with her once she said that she loved him”, which could amount to forced imprisonment.
