Benny The Butcher reveals his love for Lloyd Banks: “He got a million lines”

Earlier this year, Benny The Butcher took to social media to discuss some of his influences. He revealed that he loves former G-unit member Lloyd Banks and even suggested he is one of the best MCs ever.

Benny The Butcher has previously highlighted his respect for artists such as Eminem, Royce Da 5’9″, Black Thought, Ghostface Killah, Lil Wayne and others. However, in an unprompted Instagram upload, the Pyrex Picasso creator added Lloyd Banks to the long list of MCs he considers to be of GOAT status.

Lloyd Banks rarely appears on people’s lists of top-tier lyricists. However, Benny The Butcher evidently feels that the emcee didn’t get the credit he deserves and makes sure that he publicly lets people know that Banks is not someone that people can strap.

Although Banks didn’t reach the lofty heights of his former friend and crewmate, 50 Cent, he was still a formidable artist in his heyday and was at the forefront of the culture in the early-2000s.

Speaking about the Queens lyricist, Benny told his followers, “That n*gga Banks one of the top n*ggas ever with bars.” He continued, “That’s one rap n*gga n*ggas don’t play with. It’s certain rap n*ggas n*ggas don’t play with. He got a million lines [where] you’ll be like, ‘How the f*ck I didn’t think of that?'”

Lloyd Banks has been revered as the punchline king of rap, earning him the name PLK, which is short for Punchline King. During his mixtape run, he became one of the most potent rappers in New York and with songs such as ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley’ it’s easy to see why.

Last year, the Queens native insisted that no other artist could out rap him after he was prompted by a fan who wrote, “There was a point in time that @Lloydbanks was the greatest rapper walking the earth!”

He responded to their claim, adding, “Ain’t nobody out rapping me now.” Last year, Banks revealed that he once nearly signed a record deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music but rejected the offer.

Benny The Butcher has been extremely active on social media since the release of his 12-track album, Everybody Can’t Go, earlier this year. With appearances from legends including the likes of Snoop Dogg, Jadakiss and Lil Wayne, the project was received well by fans and critics alike.

Although the emcee didn’t see a response from Banks, he unashamedly gave the G-unit legend his flowers as he spoke about his inspirations for the album after its release. You can see the Griselda member speaking about banks below.
