Benny the Butcher reveals he was recently in prison
Despite being one of the most exciting names in modern hip hop, Benny The Butcher has revealed recently that he spent four days in prison, and nobody noticed. The rapper recently took to social media to talk about his recent stay in Gwinnett Country and discussed the relatively positive experience.
The rapper was incredibly vague about the reasons as to why he was arrested and details are still yet to emerge about the case. However, if Benny is ever charged then this information will be made clear to the public.
Taking to Instagram, Benny started the post by talking about going to jail before brushing off the incident like it was an everyday occurrence, “That’s the first time I ever made it on a unit in 11 years,” he said, “I had some bullshit probation hold.” The heart of the story came later on, though, as Benny revealed that he was able to help out some of his fellow inmates during his period locked up.
“I met some brothers that I probably wouldn’t have been able to meet if I wasn’t in there,” he said, “I got to meet somebody and got the opportunity to help him with his lawyer. Somebody who I just met, ain’t even know him.”
This isn’t the first time Benny the Butcher has been in trouble with the law, as his history with legal run-ins has been relatively well documented. He was arrested in 2006 after violating his parole shortly before the death of his brother. Benny knows first-hand how difficult it can be when trapped inside the legal system, therefore, it shouldn’t be surprising that he was so keen on helping others who found themselves momentarily lost in it.
“I helped that n**ga, just out of nowhere,” he said, “That’s the least I could do. Being back in there just opened my eyes up and showed me what’s still going on.”
Benny ended the post by clarifying that he didn’t help the man out so he could take to Instagram and tell this story. He said, “I ain’t do that shit to get on here and tell y’all I did that shit.” The rapper claimed he did it because it made him feel good to know that he was making a positive difference. “That shit just made me feel good in my soul,” he said, “I was able to do it because I’ve been in that position before. I just be trying to help strangers.”
