Baton Rouge rapper charged with principal to second-degree murder
Baton Rouge rapper P Yungin has been charged over a 2024 murder.
The 21-year-old (real name Kamrein McClay) was taken into custody last month after being charged with one count of principal to second-degree murder.
According to WAFB, Yungin was arrested alongside 29-year-old Daijah McClay (of Plaquemine), who was hit with the same charges.
Police arrested the pair in relation to the shooting death of 24-year-old Jonah C Lee near Ville Platte in March 2024.
Lee was found lying on the street with gunshot wounds and later died in a local hospital.
The news comes after Yungin (of Houston) was arrested on June 23rd on unknown charges. It marks his second arrest of 2026 after being detained in Texas on drug-related charges.
Yungin was previously signed to NBA YoungBoy’s record label, Never Broke Again, between 2020 and 2023, in a joint deal with Motown Records. YoungBoy signed him to his company when he was just 15 years old.
He has over 464,000 followers on Instagram, along with 242,000 monthly Spotify listeners. His biggest song, ‘Pull Up Actin’, is a collaboration with YoungBoy that has over 14 million streams.
In the song, he raps, “Pull up acting, with that micro Draco in my hand (gang)/ Top called him skelly soon to kill for speaking on his clan (fuck him)/ PY a demon, he don’t give a fuck ’bout what you sayin’ (fuck him)/ I be the reason that these n*ggas life come to an end (bitch).”
Some of his other biggest songs include ‘I’m On’, ‘Amazing’, and ‘Gang Baby’. Yungin released his latest album, Kamrein, in April 2026, serving as the follow-up to 2024’s Trent Mode.
