A$AP Rocky’s lawyer declined Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs case due to Jay-Z relationship

A$AP Rocky‘s attorney has revealed that he was asked to “take a look” at the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs case, in which he’s being charged with racketeering, sex trafficking by force and transportation for purposes of prostitution. However, he rejected the request due to his relationship with Jay-Z and Roc Nation.

Joe Tacopina was famously Rocky’s lawyer in his recent trial, which found him acquitted of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm after being accused of shooting a former friend. Following the decision, Rocky joked that he and Rihanna would name their next child “A$AP Joe” after the popular attorney.

During his recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Tacopina told DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God that he was asked to help Combs ahead of his May 5th trial but refused due to working with Hov in the past, who isn’t on good terms with the Bad Boy rapper.

“I represent Roc Nation; a lot of people in Roc I’m very close with,” he said. “Jay and [Roc Nation president] Desiree Perez, who’s the most amazing, like—bomb of a boss. Jay is amazing. You know, [Roc Nation CEO] Jay Brown, all those people are just, like, they really are special, special people. That’s sort of family to me and I don’t think they see eye-to-eye with P. Diddy.”

He added, “Everyone wants a picture with P. Diddy, at one time or another when they went to a party. But when things got real, years and years ago…”

Tacopina has been described as one of “the greatest attorneys of all time” and has represented celebrities such as Donald Trump, Michael Jackson and Meek Mill. While speaking on The Breakfast Club, he mentioned the Rocky case, targeting A$AP Relli for being a “liar” and a “clown” in his claims.

“My defence was to eviscerate A$AP Relli,” he said. “This guy is an absolute, pathological liar. And I eviscerated him. I told this jury, you’ve got a front-row seat to history because you just witnessed the worst witness [ever].”

He continued, “You could cross-examine him. He was his own worst enemy. He sued for thirty million over knuckle scrapes. This guy’s a clown. And he’s an admitted liar, an admitted perjurer. He lied at least to the jury 20 times.”
