A$AP Rocky addresses home shooting for the first time
A$AP Rocky has opened up about how the shooting at his home this year affected him.
In March, a woman was arrested at Rocky and Rihanna’s Los Angeles home following reports of gunfire. The couple and their three children, RZA, Riot, and Rocki, were home at the time.
During a recent interview with Vibe, Rocky shared his reaction to the incident for the first time.
“It was fucked up,” he said. “Somebody attempted at [harming] me and my family. It took away a lot of peace and happiness of being able to just be free. I don’t want to be robbed of my peace and joy.”
35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz was charged with one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.
Police stated that around 20 shots were fired at the property, but no one was injured. At the time of the shooting, Rocky and Rihanna were in an Airstream trailer while their kids and staff members were inside the main house.
The alleged woman’s white Tesla was found at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping centre, roughly eight miles away from the scene of the crime.
Ortiz, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, is being held on $1.8 million bail and faces up to life in prison.
LA County District Attorney Nathan J Hochman said, “Opening fire in any populated neighbourhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk and will be fully prosecuted. Thankfully, no one was injured in this shooting, but this careless violence will not be tolerated in our community. Such shooters will find their next destination to be our jails and prisons.”
