6ix9ine pleads guilty to cocaine and MDMA possession

6ix9ine has pleaded guilty to drug possession in violation of his supervised release. The Brooklyn rapper (real name Daniel Hernandez) appeared in court on July 23rd.

The rapper’s Miami, Florida home was raided on March 12th, where officers found cocaine and MDMA in his bedroom cabinet.

By pleading guilty, prosecutors agreed to drop two other counts 6ix9ine faced relating to the incident. According to The Associated Press, he doesn’t face any state charges.

Judge Paul Engelmayer stated that if he violates any more conditions before his sentencing, the “consequences will be severe.” He could face up to five years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release.

The judge said, “The court would have the authority to impose a prison term of up to five years. On each of these violations, the guidelines recommend a term of 3-9 months in prison.”

Assistant US Attorney Jonathan Rebold told the judge, “It seems the defendant has turned a corner. We believe that there’s a value in allowing the defendant to head in the correct direction.”

When his home was searched earlier this year, 6ix9ine claimed he was kept in handcuffs for six hours between 9am and 3pm and that the police wrecked his home.

Federal US Probation officers executed a search warrant alongside Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators. Officers reportedly took DNA samples from the rapper and checked to see if his DNA was found on the items.

The Sheriff’s office stated it was a “probation” check. A US attorney said a source led them to find MDMA, a bag with cocaine residue and a Glock handgun, but 6ix9ine claimed a former friend had planted them there.
