50 Cent confirms new album is arriving later this year

50 Cent has confirmed that his new album is on its way in September.

The rapper has been too busy with the American crime drama television series Power in recent years to focus on music. He starred and executively produced the hit series from 2014-2020. Curtis Jackson is now in promo mode for the prequel spin-off, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and he’s discussed what to expect from his new album.

His last record, Animal Ambition, arrived in 2014. Jackson has been hinting about his next project, Street King Immortal, for several years; however, no new music has emerged from Fiddy in the interim.

Speaking to The Independent in a new interview, he revealed: “That original version is not [being released] but I’m releasing new music in September.”

Elsewhere in the piece, Jackson also confirmed that Eminem would not feature on the forthcoming album. He said: “I didn’t finish the tracks with him… I’m not gonna tell who’s on it because I’m the most exciting person [on the album].”

Street King Immortal has had too many official release dates to mention over the last few years, and it’s hard to believe Fiddy that new music will arrive in September after so many previous times he’s failed to stay true to his word. Fingers crossed, he proves us all wrong.
