Is Proof's son Nasaan collaborating with Eminem?

Cryptic tweets are hardly fodder for much other than wild speculation, but sometimes wildly speculating is just too damn necessary when the possibilities are this good.

Nasaan, the son of late D12 rapper Proof and close friend to one Marshall Mathers, has tweeted out a message that seems to indicate a new collaboration between himself and Eminem is on the horizon.

You can see the tweet down below, which includes an eyeball, a backwards E, and the fire emoji. A standard track announcement, this is not. A silly and kind of awesome tease for what could be a pretty great song? Most definitely.

As if subtle teases weren’t enough, Nasaan straight up previewed and basically confirmed the new song by sharing a snippet of the track on YouTube. Cryptic tweets are one thing, affirming a non-released song’s existence is a whole other.

Nasaan’s own rap career is off to a hot start: he released the Kiss of Karma EP back in 2019, and this year followed it up with the wonderfully titled What Should I Call This Shit? EP. Most recently the single ‘Sway’ featuring Atlanta rapper SwaVay.

For his part, Eminem has been relatively quiet since the surprise release of Music to Be Murdered By was released last year, which saw Mathers return to the horrorcore stylings of his early career. Just a few months after the album’s release, Mathers was subjected to a home invasion where the perpetrator indicated he was there to kill him.

The experience may have informed the reissue of Music to Be Murdered By, which included sixteen new tracks that were previously unreleased on the first version of the album. If there was ever a way to follow that up, a low-key collaboration with a close friend would probably be the way to go.

Check out the snippet of the collaboration down below.
