21 Savage will release fresh album 'American Dream' this week

21 Savage recently released a trailer for an upcoming biopic about his life as an immigrant from the UK to East Atlant and his 2019 detainment by the United States’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

However, he’s now announced that he will release a new album by the same name as the film American Dream. The project will be available on streaming platforms from January 12th and the emcee has recently posted the LP’s artwork online. The cover references the rapper’s status as an American immigrant.

Although Savage (real name Shéyaa Abraham-Joseph) released his collaborative album, Her Loss, alongside Drake in 2022, this is Joseph’s first solo project since his 2018 body of work, I Am > I Was.

As well as Her Loss, 21 Savage also released a collaborative project with producer Metro Boomin Savage Mode II in 2020. Fans have been begging the artist to release a solo project since 2018. However, his 2019 detainment had a huge impact on his creative flow.

Few know whether or not the movie trailer has any links to the album. However, Joseph’s followers know that the motion picture will feature appearances from Natasha Lyonne, Victoria Pedretti, Young Mazino, Chad Lindberg, Gail Bean and Druski.

The trailer for the film was directed by Donald Glover, his brother Stephen Glover, Jamal Olori and Fam Udeorji. Details about the upcoming album are scarce, and his post is shrouded in mysticism.

Although Savage hasn’t released a project in five years, he’s been steadily touring the globe with Drake as part of their joint It’s All a Blur Tour and several US festival performances at Rolling Loud and others.
