Yung Miami defends writing letter in support of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Yung Miami has defended writing a letter in support of Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs last year.
In September, Combs asked Judge Arun Subramanian to give him a reduced sentence and included a letter from his ex-girlfriend, Miami.
The City Girls rapper described him as a “good man” based on the time she spent with the Bad Boy boss.
During a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Miami stated that she doesn’t have any regrets about the letter.
“I wrote a letter for a changed man,” she said. “I think that the man that I met and that I experienced was changed. I’m not gonna justify some bullshit or like support some bull if I felt like that person wasn’t changed. I felt like the person that I met was changed. It was a different experience. So, that’s why I wrote the letter.”
Revealing that her association to Combs damaged her brand, she said, “It did. Bad. It just, it was a lot. Like, I lost deals. I lost money. I lost relationships. I lost a lot. And you know, here I am.”
Miami dated Combs between 2001 and 2023, with the couple appearing at the Met Gala together. She eventually revealed that they were “done” but still “good friends.”
In her letter, she said, “My name is Caresha Brownlee. I’m a mother, daughter, sister, and a hip-hop artist who has spent many years in the public eye. I want to be clear that I cannot speak on or defend anything that may have happened before I met Sean Combs. I do not condone any wrongdoing. I can only speak from my personal experience and the man I’ve come to know over the past four years.”
She continued, “In my personal experience, Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community. He is a man of God, someone who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to be better mentally, physically and spiritually. But more than anything, he’s a father, and his kids are the ones who look up to him the most. They need him. His presence, love, and guidance matter deeply in their lives.”
