Young Thug drops first song since jail release: “King Spider back”

Young Thug has returned with new music for the first time since he was freed from jail last year. Released on January 3rd, the Atlanta rapper delivers a verse on Lil Baby’s new song ‘Dum, Dumb, and Dumber’, which also features Future.

Thugger comes through with the second verse on the track, rapping over production from Wheezy and Juke Wong. Before the start of his verse, Thug says, “Yeah, n*gga, King Spider back/ I don’t even believe I was locked up, for real, for real/ I was havin’ my way the whole time, fool, you know what I’m sayin’?”

He then raps in his verse, “Two Lamb’ coupes, four Lamb’ trucks/ Pullin’ up, what the fuck?/ Neck, wrist, fingers slush/ Order hundred G’s, that’s us/ New Rolls Cullinan truck/ Dog on the side like a bus.”

Thug was released from prison in October after accepting a plea deal in his YSL RICO case. He was sentenced to time served and 15 years of probation, giving a heartfelt speech before walking out of the trial. The ‘Digits’ artist claimed rap lyrics can be “twisted” and promised to change his lyrical content.

“I take full responsibility for my crimes or charges,” he said. “I want to say sorry to my family, my mum, my managers, my kids and everyone involved. I am a smart guy with a good heart, but I found myself in trouble because I was too nice or cool. I hope you allow me to go home today and trust me to do the right thing. I promise I won’t be in this situation again. I’ve learned from my mistakes.”

He continued, “I come from nothing and made something, but I didn’t take full advantage of it. I’m sorry for the extra time everyone had to put in. I know what I bring to the table and the impact I have on people. I’ve learned a lot in the past two or three years, and I understand what I mean to this world. I am a good guy and have done a lot for my community.”

‘Dum, Dumb, and Dumber’ appears on Lil Baby’s new album WHAM, which dropped on January 3rd. The title stands for Who Hard As Me and serves as the fourth and final entry of his Hard series. The project comprises 15 tracks with features from Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Future, GloRilla, Rod Wave and Rylo Rodriguez.
