
Wu-Tang Clan members pay tribute to co-founder following his death
Wu-Tang Clan co-founder Oliver ‘Power’ Grant died this week, with members of the group each paying tribute to the 52-year-old.
Power’s death was revealed on February 24th. The producer, entrepreneur, fashion mogul, and actor was a founding member of Wu, growing up in the Park Hill projects in Staten Island.
Rappers within Wu-Tang took to social media following his death. The group’s official page, which has over 2.4 million followers, posted photos of Power while writing in the caption, “Rest in Power, Power.”
Taking to his own page, GZA wrote, “‘Word life, peace to Power and my whole unit.’ We couldn’t have done it without him. Wu wouldn’t have come to fruition without Power. His passing is a profound loss to us all. My deepest condolences to the fam. #olipowergrant.”
Method Man revealed his heartbreak, adding, “Paradise my Brother safe Travels!! #pookie #power Bruh I am not ok.”
Ghostface Killah posted an image of the Wu-Tang Clan logo with Power’s name inside and a halo above, along with broken heart emojis in the caption.
Raekwon also showed his love to Power, writing, “POWER we been everywhere …. now you everywhere ! the most high is merciful love you.”
RZA kept things short, sharing a black image with the caption, “5.”
Inspectah Deck wrote, “I love you my brother rest easy I do not have the words to put in writing. You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You helped me save my life and I am forever grateful. Long live the great Oli “Power” Grant #wutangforever.”
Masta Killa added, “Our Brother Power. Sending My Love, Peace & Blessings to the family. Rest in Power.”
