Woman withdraws sexual assault lawsuit made against Snoop Dogg
A lawsuit made against Snoop Dogg over sexual assault claims has been withdrawn.
The case was first raised in a federal court in Los Angeles earlier this year. An unnamed woman, referred to as Jane Doe, alleged Bishop Don ‘Magic’ Juan (Donald Campbell) assaulted her following a Snoop Dogg concert at Club Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, California, on May 29th, 2013.
After the situation came to light, Snoop seemingly responded to the allegation by posting an image on Instagram that read “Gold digger season is here” alongside emojis of a judge, a police officer and cash.
The woman filed the complaint in December through the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. However, it had exceeded the statute of limitations for the administrative proceedings. She tried to resolve this issue privately but was “unsuccessful.”
Court records show on Wednesday, her attorney, Matt Finkelberg, filed a notice to withdraw the suit without prejudice in U.S. District Court for Central California. Additionally, the filing did not reveal why the suit had been dropped, and Finkelberg has refused to comment on it.
“It is not surprising that the plaintiff dismissed her complaint against the defendants,” a spokesperson for Snoop Dogg said Thursday. “Her complaint was full of false allegations and deficiencies.”
