Wiz Khalifa believes the Earth is flat: “It’s only because I’ve travelled so much”
‘Black & Yellow’ emcee Wiz Khalifa recently sat down with cultural commentator Joe Budden. During his discussion, Wiz shocked listeners by admitting that he is a proud flat-Earther. During the 2010s, with the rapid politicisation of social media and the spread of conspiracy theories, one that stuck out was the theory that planet Earth is not spherical but is instead a flat plane enshrouded by a sheet of ice, which manifests itself as the North and South poles.
Those who believe this theory point to the fact that NASA is responsible for every photo of the Earth from space and insist that, despite the various experiments they have carried out, the Earth appears flat over long distances.
Although various astronomers and scientists have refuted the claim, sat face to face with flat-Earthers to explain how the planet is globe-shaped and detail why they are experiencing certain phenomena, a rise in distrust of experts has led to a large cohort of people believing that the Earth is indeed flat. Now, Wiz Khalifa proudly unveiled that he is one of them.
When Budden was asked if he believed the Earth was round, he replied, “I would say no. I just believe that we live on a flat plane, like a huge flat plane,” adding, “It’s only because I’ve travelled so much.”
Wiz justified his thinking and stated that at no point has he ever felt a plane go up or down over the curvature of the Earth. Detailing this, he told Budden, “I think that there’s more masses than just what we see because it was one thing before, and it spread out. Because when I travel, the routes that we take and how we do it, it’s not possible to go up and down. You’re just going straight. That’s the only reason I think that.”
Regarding space exploration, Khalifa is also not sure about the many missions they have been on. Admitting he doesn’t think NASA has been into space as often as they claim, the ‘On My Level’ rhymer stated, “I don’t believe in space exploration at all. I don’t believe that they explore space as much as they say that they do.”
Many of Wiz Khalifa’s fans have noted that his project, Kush + Orange Juice 2, shows the Earth as being round.
