Wiley charged with burglary and assault

Scotland Yard has confirmed that the British rapper Wiley has been charged with burglary and assault following an incident in East London.

Due to his pivotal input into the rise of the rap movement in the capital, Wiley is known as ‘The Godfather of Grime‘, and in 2018, he was even awarded an MBE in the New Year’s honours list to thank him for his services to music.

Now, it has been claimed that he broke into kickboxer Ali Jacko’s house while with friends and violently kicked him. It’s believed that one of Jacko’s confidantes phoned the police after the row led to plates being smashed inside the Forest Gate property.

The force said: “At around 2200hrs on Saturday 28 August police were called to a flat in Forest Gate. Officers attended the location. It was alleged that a man had entered the flat, assaulted the occupant and caused criminal damage to property. The man was arrested and taken into custody.

“The occupant, an adult male, sustained a minor injury. London ambulance service were not required.”

The Met Police charged Wiley following the incident on August 28th, with him due to appear at London’s Thames magistrates’ court on September 13th.
